A Tale of Two Venues: Chloe & Shaun’s Botanical Gardens Ceremony & Urban Chic Reception

A garden ceremony full of romance, followed by a reception that felt like modern art with a floral soul.

When it comes to timeless romance with a contemporary edge, Chloe and Shaun's wedding was the perfect blend. Held beneath the leafy canopy of the Melbourne Botanical Gardens and followed by an artful reception at the modern, moody fortyfivedownstairs gallery, this day was overflowing with style, laughter, and flowers of course!

We worked closely with Chloe to create lush, romantic arrangements that felt both elegant and effortless. Think soft blush and ivory roses, dreamy white orchids, and cascading textures of jasmine and wispy foliage. Her bouquet was full and feminine, designed to complement her stunning lace gown without overpowering it. The bridesmaids carried slightly smaller versions in matching tones, their soft grey dresses acting as the perfect backdrop for those layered florals.

After their sun-drenched garden ceremony, Chloe and Shaun switched gears for a reception full of inner-city charm and ambient glow. Hosted at the iconic fortyfivedownstairs gallery, the space brought an industrial edge with exposed brick, moody lighting, and high ceilings—just waiting for a floral statement.

We suspended a lush hanging installation over the dining space, a wild and whimsical canopy of flowering branches, jasmine, peppercorn foliage, and blush accents that drew every eye upward. Romantic, unstructured and perfectly imperfect, it added movement and texture against the clean lines of the space.

For the tables, we kept things grounded with low-set greenery, candles, and accents of seasonal blooms nestled between platters of shared feasts. It was all about warmth, intimacy, and letting the florals flow naturally into the night.
