Winter Romance in Full Bloom: Emily & Pierre’s Luxe August Wedding Flowers
When former Bachelor star Emily Simms tied the knot with Pierre Ghougassian, you know the floral brief was going to be nothing short of show-stopping. Set against two of Melbourne’s most iconic venues Melbourne Town Hall for the ceremony and The George Ballroom in St Kilda for the reception this August wedding brought a whole new meaning to winter wonderland.
And of course, Foxy Evergreen Flowers was there to bring the floral fantasy to life.
The Ceremony: Old World Elegance at Melbourne Town Hall
Stepping into the Melbourne Town Hall felt like stepping into a grand, candlelit romance novel with just the right amount of drama (the good kind). Emily walked down the aisle framed by a bespoke floral installation bursting with layered winter flowers: creamy Playa Blanca roses, crisp white disbuds, delicate sweet peas and soft clouds of seasonal foliage.
We kept the palette timeless white on white with subtle hints of blush and dusty mauve to complement the classic grandeur of the Town Hall’s interiors. Everything felt polished, elegant, and impossibly romantic. Just like Emily’s gown.
The Reception: Moody Glamour at The George Ballroom
Ah, The George. The moody, textured walls. The ornate ceiling details. The candlelit everything. It’s a dream venue for a winter reception, and we leaned right into the drama.
For the reception florals, we dialed up the depth. Luxe reflexed roses in blush, toffee and champagne tones mingled with dried elements like bleached ruscus and amaranthus, plus pops of fresh seasonal foliage. Table arrangements featured layered heights, soft movement, and romantic asymmetry—designed to glow by candlelight and photograph like a dream.
